About the event
The young prince Tamino is given the task by the Queen of the Night to rescue her daughter Pamina—whom he has already fallen in love with at the sight of her portrait—from the hands of Sarastro.
Together with Papageno, he sets out on his journey. In the course of his quest, Tamino comes to recognize Sarastro’s wisdom and benevolence. He undergoes several trials and, as a reward, is allowed—together with Pamina—to take Sarastro’s place. Papageno, too, finds a partner perfectly suited to him: Papagena.
