About the event
La Tragédie de Carmen is Peter Brook’s radical reimagining of Georges Bizet’s Carmen, adapted with Jean-Claude Carrière and Marius Constant. Stripped of the chorus and reduced to its four principal characters, the work concentrates the drama into an intense and intimate theatrical experience.
Adrian Autard performs the leading tenor role of Don José as a member of the Regio Ensemble, alongside Anastasia Egorova as Carmen, Albina Tonkikh as Michaëla and Eduardo Martínez as Escamillo.
Conducted by Sergio Alapont and directed by Cecilia Ligorio, this new production of Teatro Regio Torino features the Orchestra of Teatro Regio Torino and sets by Alberto Favretto.
